DATES: May 9, 16, 23 (all Wednesdays), 5:00-6:30pm on Zoom This no-cost online book club is open to K-12 teachers in any content area. There is no cost to participate, and teachers will be mailed a free copy of Unearthing Joy: A Guide to Culturally and Historically Responsive Teaching and Learning by Gholdy Muhammad. Carl A. Bimson Seminar on Storytelling for Social Justice APPLY NOW You are encouraged to apply soon. The seminar is strictly capped at 20 participants. As of April 28, only a few spots remain. The application will close when program capacity is reached. DATES: Begins with a 3-day retreat, June 12-14, on the CSU campus and continues in a hybrid fashion through Dec. 7 APPLICATION DEADLINE: Fri., May 24 This hybrid seminar is capped at 20 participants. The CSU Writing Project is partnering with the CSU College of Liberal Arts to offer an interdisciplinary professional development opportunity focused on connecting narrative and the humanities in anti-bias, anti-racist teaching. This prestigious, paid seminar will equip secondary public-school teachers in the humanities with practical pedagogical tools for promoting critical dialogue in a counter-narrative storytelling community. Participants will receive a $500 stipend and a copy of the book Storytelling for Social Justice: Connecting Narrative and the Arts in Antiracist Teaching (Bell, 2020). Student Creative Writing
Workshops June 24-28, 2024

As of May 1, only four spots remain in our elementary workshop, ready.set.write. Due to popular demand, we have re-opened registration for our middle-school workshop, WriteOn!. We have added additional staffing so that your students will have an optimal experience. As of May 1, twenty spots are available. Registration Fee: $200 (non-refundable) Deadline: June 3, 2024 (Please note that registration will be closed earlier if enrollment caps are reached before June 3.) Students entering 4th-12th grade in the 2024-25 school year are invited to register for our summer creative writing workshops, which will be held on the CSU campus . In these highly popular immersive workshops, students will experiment with writing techniques in various genres, work in writing groups, learn from published writers, and more!
